The design

The hardware design hasn't changed from the one we already knew about. It uses the same materials as the prototype: Black glass and stainless steel rim. It fits with the rest of the Apple product line, from the hard edges to the Dieter-Ramsesque utilitarianism of the iMac and the iPad.

A new king is crowned

tase scores a double hitter

tase became our first member to win both auctions on a single day. tase scooped his first win at 4pm for the MarioKart and two Wii games, then after an epic battle he won the Google Nexus One auction which was scheduled to end at 7pm but continued for 5 and a half hours.

tase also collected his gold winners icon for his accomplishments!

Nethunter will be launching our new PickPocket Auctions in a short while. These will work unlike any other auction you have seen before.

PickPocket Auction Basics

• Small number of players
• Fixed price for entry. All the fun of the auctions without blowing your budget
• Entry is for one game only
• Special bid tokens only for use in that PickPocket auction
• All of the PickPocket Auctions will start with at €0.00
• As per the normal auctions the winning price is only increased by a set amount each bid
• Everyone starts at the same place. You each have the same amount of tokens so tactics is the name of the game!
• Pick Pocket Auctions will continue until a set amount of the total number of bids available have been used. Once this amount has been reached, the auction ends with the player who bid last winning
• The winner of a Pick Pocket Auction will have the exclusive right to purchase the item at the ending price

How Does a PickPocket Auction Work?

As we said, a PickPocket Auction works differently than any other auction.

A PickPocket Auction starts with a fixed number of players each starting with exactly the same number of bids.

Once all the places have been allocated the auction will be closed to anyone who has not signed up. So make sure you don't wait until the last moment to decide to join in the fun!

This type of auction ensures everyone stands the highest possibility of winning, its not about who has the most bids, or who can sit in the background waiting for everyone else to run out. In this auction you have to play and you have to be shrewd to decide on the best tactics to ensure victory.

Once you have decided to take part in an auction and have bought your place at the table, you are credited with a set number of bid tokens for that one auction. These cannot be used anywhere else on the site and once the auction ends the tokens will disappear from your account.

Each player has their own personal bid timer. This is the time you have left to place a bid. If you do not place a bid within the alloted time, the system will automatically place all your bids for you in one go! This isn't neccessarily bad however as if this takes the number of bids placed to the required percentage the auction will end and you will have won. It is down to each player to decide how and when is the best time to place a bid.

Once all your bids have gone you can no longer play in the auction. There is no possibility to purchase more or to buy another seat at the table. so be sure to keep a close eye on your personal bid timer.

The whole idea of a PickPocket Auction is to get everyone involved. There is no target price, there are no rules preventing you from bidding against yourself to try to increase the overall bid count to meet the required level and trigger a victory.

PickPocket Auctions redefine online auctions, it introduces a new level of fun and interaction into the experience and still allows everyone the chance to win an item for a low price and set themselves a budget in order to play with.

iPhone goes the long haul!

The latest auction on Nethunter Auctions tested everyones endurance! Lasting nearly 7 hours after the scheduled end time it proved to be an extremely popular auction.

Several heavy hitters came in on the auction, with many content to watch and let them battle it out, waiting for the opportune moment to snatch victory away from them.

bazzo69 while using a 'bid Buddy' due to poor internet connection outbid everyone in what became a fierce battle to own the iPhone 3GS 32G. This represents the second win for bazzo69 on Nethunter Auctions both being for this fantastic phone.
